Dear Members
ASA RULE 24: CLOTHING
It has been noted that there are a number of clubs who have been modernising their club kit. Whilst this is admirable there are among them clubs who are failing to comply with the ASA requirements in this process.
ASA Rule 24.1
Clubs must register their competition attire with their domicile Province.
ASA Rule 24.2
No change of club colours; club name or logo; or manufacturer’s or sponsors logo, displayed on any garment in the club competition attire, will be acceptable unless the competition attire is re-registered with the domicile Province.
ASA Rule 24.3
The name or logo, clothing design and colours of competition gear must assist the Referee to distinguish between athletes, between clubs and determine if the athlete adheres to the domicile rule.
In order for the executive to approve the kit/new kit, it must be submitted to the office to be technically checked in order to confirm that it complies with ASA Rule 24.13 and is in accordance with the illustrative diagrams attached to the rule. A further check is that the kit does not clash with other club kits available in the Province.
Once approved, the club kit will be attached to your KZNA club profile for record purposes.
Your attention is drawn to one of the conditions of club affiliation to KZNA annually is that the club must include as part of their submission a copy of their registered current club kit. Many clubs are failing to meet this requirement.
Kind Regards
