Announcement of Finalists
KwaZulu-Natal Athletics is pleased to announce the finalists for the 2025 KZN Athletics
Awards, which will be held on Saturday, 16 August 2025. These awards recognize and
celebrate the exceptional achievements of individuals and organizations who have
contributed to the growth and success of athletics in our province.
Following a thorough evaluation of performances between 1 July 2024 and 30 June 2025,
these are the finalists have been selected across the following categories:
Athlete Categories
a) Female Track & Field Athlete of the Year

- Anele Ndawonde
- Amahle Cebekhulu.
b) Male Track & Field Athlete of the Year
- Zakithi Nene
- Johannes Morepe
- Tshepo Tshite.
c) Female Cross Country Athlete of the Year

- Ntsoaki Mohlahoe.
d) Male Cross Country Athlete of the Year

- Piet Britz.
e) Female Road Running Athlete of the Year

f) Male Road Running Athlete of the Year

g) Best Newcomer of the Year

h) Female Athlete of the Year

Technical & Support Categories
a) Coach of the Year
- Ntsikelelo Rabaza
- Sihle Shange
- Lux Gordon.
b) Technical Official of the Year
- Jabulani Qwabe
- Pinky Mlangeni
- Xoli Malinga.
c) Club of the Year
- A club that has produced outstanding achievements at a Provincial level.
- Demonstrated high levels of sportsmanship, outstanding team ethics and teamwork.
- Hosted an official event(s)
- Assisted other clubs hosting official events
- Shown ongoing commitment to affiliating, compliance and positive contributions to the organization.
Each finalist has demonstrated excellence at provincial, national, continental, or
international levels, while upholding the values of integrity, sportsmanship, and dedication
to the sport.
